This entire week, students in #NSLCSPRT talked to professionals in the industry about the experience of working in sports. Through these lectures, they had the opportunity to learn about everything that goes into the art of “the game.” They learned about everything that goes on behind the scenes to make the fan experience, a good experience. During the Met’s game at CitiField, students were able to witness everything they learned in action—think sponsorships, branding and marketing, sports writing, announcing, etc.
Tonight at the game, some of our very own #NSLCSPRT students wnt onto the field to accept the Spirit Award on behalf of the National Student Leadership Conferences.

Today, #NSLCSPRT students participated in a Press Conference to learn about the preparation and stress that goes into hosting a press conference for an athlete. Each TA group acted as an agency and was given an athlete to represent. After talking to the press about the plans they were preparing for their athletes, they took questions and even had to respond to a scandel in which their athlete was allegedly involved in.

Throughout our sessions, students in all of our programs get to partake in a variety of activities dedicated to helping them grow as leaders. During today’s session, students participated in Commitment in Action, an activity that teaches students to make a decision and stick to it no matter how embarrassed or uncomfortable they feel. In this activity, the students were challenged to create a unique walk which they would do in the middle of two lines of students, as pictured above.
